Regarding the certain Japanese webcomic that was recently(?) animated, that everyone loves.
(and not about any dA users in particular or as a group)

Yeah, you're probably thinking "Oh, I heard it all, Koreans are a bunch of whiners, whine whine whine whatever suck it up." Don't read on.


I know a lot of people loves this 'not for the history' but for the characters.
Sure. I agree the characters are so moe, they're cute, sexy whatever. And no, this is not an attack against JAPAN. I agree the Japanese maintain a very unique and interesting culture. I have no grudges against great artists in Japan, nor do I hate all Japanese people because of what their goverment has done.




But what is WRONG is what is WRONG. Wrong history must be acknowledged. Wars can NEVER be justified nor be beatified.

My own grandmother was alive at the time when Japan invaded Korea. Japan masscared millions of innocent civillians. They performed biological experiements("maruta") on prisoners of war. The enforced innocent girls into forced prostitution ("Comfort women") to satisfy the Japanese soldiers. I don't mean only Korea. I mean in Taiwan and Manchuria and Malaysia and all around the pacific ocean.

This happened just about 60 years ago. That's not even a generation ago. These victims are STILL ALIVE IN OUR WORLD AND THEY REMEMBER.

Don't Koreans at least have the rights to be angry, that this period of slavery is summarized by "Japan petting Korea's head"? That Korea holds the Japanese flag and basically exists to suck Japanese ass? That KOREA is called Hentai and touchy-touchy, not Japan? That Japan attempts to eradicate their "dishonorable" past and replace it with something more pleasant? If some call that overreacting, then they are obviously ignorant and utterly imbecilic.


Please.

It's just so wrong to further disgrace the people whose life were already ruined, thrown away by memories of war and rape and terror. It's just not right.
